Perfectly Emotional

It’s a good question!  There are many who believe that the only way we are in joy is if we have a permanent smile painted across our face.  The expectation is that if we are not smiling all the time then there is something wrong.  We must respond perfectly to every situation.  We must NOT be Human.

The truth is we ARE Human (at least I thin most of us are).  I gave up on being a perfect saint quite some time ago, but even now I catch myself having the expectation that I must not get angry or disappointed.  My feelings may get hurt.  I might screw up and be embarrassed.

The truth is, it’s all good. The anger, sorrow, laughter, frustration…all of it.

Below is an excellent video that says it all.

(I’m sick of crying! Spiritual Growth ~ Isha Judd)

I love how Isha says not to suffer the process.

You are not more enlightened if you never get angry or sad.  You are not more enlightened if you are always smiling.

You are perfect exactly the way you are in every moment, emotions and all.
