The holiday season is upon us! It’s only a few more weeks until our Family celebrates Christmas. Whatever holiday your family celebrates during this time of year, we wish you the utmost Joy and Love.

We’ve put up the Christmas lights on the outside of our house, and decorated the tree. There are presents hiding throughout the house. I’m crafting some very special gifts for friends and family. My grocery list is growing with ingredients for Christmas baking. I love this time of year.

I’ve presents over the past few months that are just “perfect”. I love it when that happens.

Giving from my heart, and receiving Joy as their faces light up. That’s what it’s all about!

All too often as we are getting ready for this time of year, self-care can fall to the wayside. Please make sure you take loving care of yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually. Don’t let your daily practices fall to the wayside completely due to being “busy”. Don’t justify letting yourself get run down.

Just a little reminder, for you and for me.

As many of you may already know, December 15th will be the last Welcome Changes Radio show for 2009. This will also be our 100th show as well! We’ll be celebrating!

Join Erika Morrell and me as we talk about Love! We’ll be sharing many gifts throughout the show. You should see the list that Erika sent me! Oh don’t worry. I now how to keep a secret. It’s taken many years of practice, and although I can almost explode with excitement, I’ll make it through without bursting!

Lastly, I do have a gift for you. 25% off any of the following items:

JOY Journal Audio Program

Juicy Bites of Welcome Changes ebook

Living Abundant JOY Audios (digital only)

Simply enter the Coupon Code “HOLIDAYS09” to receive your discount. This coupon is valid from today through to January 4th, 2010.

EnJOY your Holidays!

Dream BIG!

Velma Gallant
The Queen of JOY!

PS ~ We’ll be back “on the air” at Welcome Changes Radio January 12th, 2010.

A friend of mine shared with me that his son (10 years old) is completely fascinated with Maps. He came up with the wonderfully creative idea of asking his friends from around the world to send a city map to his son for Christmas.

He lives in New Zealand, so clear across the world from me. I think it is a wonderfully creative idea! I’m going to send him one of Calgary, and a few other places near me in Alberta.

Then I thought about it. I have so many wonderful friends and acquaintances around this beautiful blue marble we call Earth. Wouldn’t it be fun for this young man to receive maps from many locations?

If you have the time, and this sounds like a fun idea to you too, please send your city or town map to:

c/o Piers Le Sueur
Unit 7/35 Riccarton Road
Riccarton
Christchurch 8011
New Zealand

If you do, please comment here! I’d love to see where the maps are coming from too!

Happy Holidays!

Velma Gallant
The Queen of JOY!

PS ~ Piers does some pretty awesome graphic design work. His website is http://www.artnsoulgraphicdesign.com/. He has another website on the way, and I’ll put it up here when it’s ready. He’s doing graphic art – fine art images from photos. That would make an awesome Christmas Present I think!

Christmas was wonderful. I so enjoy this time of the year

From the smell of Christmas baking to the smile on my son’s face as he opens the presents from Santa, the holiday is filled with love and joy.

This year, Christmas held some unexpected gifts as well.

At the end of Christmas Day, as family was cleaning up, and preparing to head home, someone said something to upset me.

As we’re heading home I say to myself that it was “expected”.

Hold on there! Back it up just a bit! Expected?

DOH!

What was expected, and why the heck did I expect THAT?

I am the creator of all that I experience. Why the heck would I create through that kind of expectation?

As you can tell, my special gift this year was awareness; the awareness that I have been creating the “expected” experiences, and have been doing so for years!

I mulled over this new Awareness all through Boxing Day and come up with some new expectations for when I play with family (and with anyone else who may “upset” me).

I expect that no matter what, they love me.

I expect that I look and listen for things to appreciate about everyone who comes into my experience.

I expect that I choose to feel good.

What do you expect? Does that expectation support you? If not, how do you choose to transform your expectation?

How about foregoing the “Resolutions” this year and choosing “Great Expectations”?

Happy New Year!

Last night was the “Old Fashioned Christmas” festivities here in town. They light the Christmas Tree downtown. There was a bonfire. We went on the Wagon Ride around town. Those Clydesdale Horses are HUGE! There was Beef on a Bun. The boys really enjoyed that. It’s a good way to raise funds for the town’s parks. Christmas Music was playing loud enough you could here it no matter where you were downtown. (It’s a small downtown.

All the stores were open late, and everyone had treats, and some kind of draw to enter your name into. There were sales on. I went back out after to do some shopping.

It was an evening of complete Joy! My husband and I sat down after the evening, and looked back not only over the evening, but over the past four years. 4 years ago our life was upside down, and we could not see how we were ever going to get out of the situation we were in.

4 years later, our lives have taken a 540 degree flip. (Yeah…it feels like we’ve flipped over a few times.) We are in a small community filled with kind people. We love our home. Plurk is full of joy and satisfaction. Our son is thriving in the school he’s in. Our health is fantastic. We have great friends. As I write this I feel so overwhelmed with gratitude for all the Universe has brought me.

Ahhhhh….Life is Good.

It’s funny. When we first moved here, one of the people we met always said that. He still says it. “Life is Good.” Now I’m saying it! Guess it’s contagious.
