Some people say “I am just one person” when they think of creating change. It seems like a daunting task. What kind of effect could I have on the world? The truth is, each I does have an effect on the world.

“In one instant you can change the world. If man were to change his mind; one mind at a time, a chain reaction (like nuclear fission) would occur. Human minds like ours, are all joined. It is a belief in isolation that creates the limits. Simply let them go and a far greater world is yours, ours, and in the communion of spirit as it has always been.” ~ Premiere Edition (Prima) through Liz Mitten Ryan

The beauty of this is that it can take some of the pressure off. It’s not your responsibility to change everyone’s mind. It’s not your responsibility to make anyone else do anything. You’re only responsible for changing your own mind, your own way of BEing in this world.

JOY Challenge:

What is one thing I can be, do or have differently that will contribute to the peace, love and joy of the planet?

Suggestions: It can be as simple as recycling or composting. It can be volunteering, contributing to a food bank, or even meditating on world peace. It doesn’t matter what you choose. It all makes a difference.

I’ve been seeing a lot of information about Earth Day. I happen to love Mother Earth, and all the beauty she shares.

Here’s a really neat site to visit.

http://www.hancockwildlifechannel.org

Click on the Live Cams!

Each of the live cams is on a Bald Eagle Nest in BC, Canada. The first one has chicks! The other two nests have eggs that the parents have been caring for. As of earlier this evening the eggs have not hatched.

Beautiful!

I was speaking to my son the other night about the miracle of life. He asked me how, when the baby is in the tummy, it gets arms and legs. I tried to explain some of it, but it was hard! I ended up at “it’s truly a miracle how it happens.”

And it really is! All of it!

It’s a miracle that the trees know to grow. The whole growing process of plants, animals, and how the sun and earth interact. It’s all absolutely amazing.

What do I do for Mother Earth? I’ve been learning more about how to be green. I recycle. I compost. I’m installing the “green” light bulbs in my house. When it’s warm enough, I put my clothes out on a line rather than using the dryer.

I found out, the other day, how there’s two green communities being built near me. One’s in Clear Lake, Alberta. They are exclusive lake front properties being built by Mike Holmes of Holmes on Homes. He’s done some building down in New Orleans too. Some really neat stuff! He’s also building a green community of about 450 homes in Okotoks, Alberta too. Oh…did you know Mike’s Canadian?

What are you doing to show your appreciation for Mother Earth?

Do you have any tips about going green?

Dream BIG!

So I think I have some more stuff worked out with how I want things to flow with my Sharings.

With respect to Welcome Changes Newsletter, I have chose to do a monthly newsletter using a “green publishing” platform. I’ll send out weekly reminders for the radio shows to the newsletter, and any other time sensitive material in short emails. I’ll be scheduling as many of these as I can, so I can organize my days the way I want rather than having the broadcasts dictate my days.

I used to add a “What’s New” to each weekly broadcast, which is why I never pre-scheduled them, but I think it will be much easier to do my periodical “what’s up” shares here instead.

These shifts feel more organized, and that’s what I’ve been asking for! Every day I’ve been affirming that “Each day I am just a little bit more organized.”

That affirmation has been working! I’ve got a recycling routine in place. I have a little basket at the top of the stairs that I put the recycling in. I have a recycling station in the storage room in the basement. Every Thursday a service comes and picks up our recycling.

I have a composting bucket under my sink. Yesterday I picked up some inserts for it, so I can take it out to my compost bin cleanly, and the inserts are biodegradable too.

I learned that you need equal parts of “brown matter” along with the “green matter”. The green matter is things like my vegetable scraps. Brown matter is things like dry leaves, and ripped up paper counts! So I’ve been shredding my office paper and such, and keeping it in a bin with the recycling to use each time I take my scraps out.

I’ve been playing with menu planning a bit. I’m still practicing with this one, but I am getting better. I bought the “green bags” so my veggies last longer in the fridge. I’d throw the old veggies into the compost, and I felt better about that, but that’s still waste even if I’m not sending it to the dump.

I’m looking forward to Summer so I can put the clothes out on the line again. I’m also looking forward to starting a little garden too. Oh! I suppose I should get the pumpkin and squash seeds I saved started! I think I’ll do that with my son this week. I’m going to buy the plants this year for the tomatoes and peppers though. Maybe I’ll have a row of carrots too.

I haven’t quite mastered the clean desk yet, though it is better!

Got organizational tips? Feel free to comment with them! I’d love to hear what you do that supports you to stay in the flow!

Dream BIG!
