My blog posts both here and over at Welcome Changes Radio have been FILLED with typos over the past few days!

At first I was upset, and then I laughed. I am a human being, and being a freedom loving human being, getting all up-tight about typos just doesn’t make sense to me. I’m just grateful I have the fingers to type, the computer to type on, and the internet to share through.

It’s pretty amazing when you think about it! The internet has made our world feel so small! I love that I can connect with people on the other side of the world so easily!

In Canada we celebrated Thanksgiving last month, but thanks to the internet I get to be reminded of how wonderful it is to be alive once again. Mind you, with all the Turkey talk on some of the boards I like to visit, I do wish I was sitting down to a meal with my whole family today!

It’s all good though. I still receive the most important benefit of being in Gratitude.

So I’m grateful for the fact that I can create typos. I’m grateful for the fact that I made it to 44 years! (Check out my post from yesterday … Such A Beautiful Day … there’s something special for you there too.) I’m grateful for my health. I’m grateful for my family. I’m grateful for my dear friends. I’m grateful for our home.

I’m grateful for the new family member on the way! No…I’m not pregnant. We had a family discussion that we’d like to bring a dog into our family. We put an application into an adoption agency last night.

Best of all, the really cool not-coincidence is that I’ll be interviewing Val Heart on Welcome Changes Radio next week! (The details of the show will be out tomorrow.) Val is an amazing Animal Communicator, and I’m excited to be talking to her. Perfect timing for me and our family! We’ve been talking for months about having her on the show. I think it’s just so cool that she’s on right when we decide to bring a new little animal into our family!

Thank YOU for being a part of my life too! Being able to connect here, thanks to the internet, is so special.

For my friends in the US, have a very Happy Thanksgiving. For my friends around the world, have a beautiful day/evening/morning…whatever it is for you.

Dream BIG!

Velma Gallant
The Queen of JOY!

PS ~ I don’t know what to put here, but it seems naked with nothing!

PPS ~ OK…maybe something. Do something kind for yourself today. You’re worth it.

I posted at one of my favourite forums today. Someone was asking for affirmations they could use when they were worrying about someone else’s need for a manifestation.

Thought the information may be of value to other people, so I’m sharing it here.

These are more than just to support you with a worry. They should and easily could be part of your daily processes.

Enjoy!

All is well. And it always is.

Things always work out for me.

Look for evidence in your life where things HAVE worked out.

Do kind things for yourself.

Write 5 Gratitudes per day.

Take 5 Deep Breaths.

Thank the Universe for working in the background for you.

Choose a celebration for when [fill in the blank] happens.

Laugh more.

Remember…managing your energy is not complicated. Simple works GREAT!

Dream BIG!

This weekend was very special for me, in a lot of ways.

I celebrated with a dear friend as she married her dashing and loving partner. I didn’t know anyone at this event, but this friend meant a lot to me so I went. The room was over-filled with love. I’m all about Family, and this was an “all about family” experience. This friend’s family embraced me and made me feel so welcome. There were here in a room full of people they knew and love, and yet they took the time to make me feel safe and welcome. Though I am extremely grateful for their kindness, I’m not surprised. This friend is the same way. That’s why we hit it off so well. Our highest values are the same. Family above all else.

Another dear friend had a birthday party for her eldest son. I wasn’t able to go to this as it was the same day as the wedding. I was so sad. Her children are like my own, and our children have grown up together. My son and husband went to his birthday. I didn’t think he’d really care if I was there or not. His friend was there and that’s what was important. I spoke with my friend that night, and apparently I was missed. Of course, I’m such a mush-head I cried on the phone. I mattered to an 11 year old.

We also celebrated the 50th Anniversary of my husband’s parents. It’s not very usual to come across this anymore. It was a very important event. I spent all last week compiling photos from the family’s history to make a DVD for his parents. Yes, I cried when I watched the finished product. Unfortunately the facility that we had the dinner at didn’t have a DVD player to share it with everyone there, so after the dinner we went back to the parent’s place and watched it with them and my husband’s oldest sister. My intention was that everyone would walk away feeling good about what they saw, and enjoy the memories. We all wanted his parents to feel honoured and appreciated.

All in all it was an amazing weekend, filled with love. I am truly grateful for all the many blessings in my life. Like you, I’m following a road that goes up and down, with many unexpected twists. Weekends like this bring things back into perspective.

The only truly important thing is THIS moment, and I want to fill my NOW moments with Family and Love.

Dream BIG!

Velma Gallant
The Queen of JOY!

PS ~ This week’s guest on Welcome Changes Radio is Jennifer Skiff. We’ll be speaking about her book, God Stories. I hope you can make it. I have a feeling it’s going to be a very special show.

Someone emailed this video to me. It made me think. Lots of things make me think these days.

So many of us have been raised to be stoic. We are strong if we do not show our emotions.

The question is, is this a healthy thing to do? Is this a valuable thing to pass on to our children? Or is there a better way?

Sadness, frustration, anger. Each of these emotions is labelled as bad.

Why?

Is it because if someone else is mad or sad, we don’t know how to fix it? Is it because we may remember our own pain that we are trying to forget?

None of it is healthy. It’s not valuable to stifle our own emotions, nor is it valuable to teach others to do the same.

How would things change if it was more important to be kind and compassionate? What if we changed the definition of strong? What if strong people are those who are kind and compassionate?

Here is the URL for you too, for those who cannot see the video.

It is well worth it to watch the other four videos in the series. I am doing that now as I write this.

My favourite quote from this first video?

Let People Live in Your Heart.

I love that.

By the way, if you choose to let people live in your heart, don’t forget the most important person to invite in there. YOU!

Dream BIG!

Every once in a while I get this idea in my head that I’m supposed to be perfect, and never EVER make a mistake. And if by chance I do make a mistake, no one…and I mean no one…should ever find out about it.

Then, one day, my son made a mistake. I noticed he had somehow adopted the thought that he needed to be perfect, and he was devastated. It broke my heart to see him this way. It was then that I realized how unkind I had been to myself.

"A man should never be ashamed to own that he has been in the wrong, which is but saying that he is wiser today than he was yesterday." ~ Alexander Pope

I shared how I too had made mistakes, and also how I had actually learned from these mistakes. We discussed what he could learn from what happened. I shared how important these mistakes truly are, and how valuable they can be, when we are kind to ourselves.

I still make mistakes, and I still get this idea of being perfect in my head once in a while. All I have to do is look at my son to remind me to be as kind and loving to myself as I would be to him in those same circumstances.
