Dr. Oz says Small Changes Daily

I just finished lunch, and was watching Oprah.  Her guest was Dr. Oz, and they were talking about health (of course).  In their conversation, Dr. Oz said that it was small changes made daily that added up to results.

This is so true for all areas of our life, and not just physical health!  It also applies to emotional health, mental health, and spiritual health.

It also is true when applying the Law of Attraction to your life!

You do not need to meditate for hours.  You do not need to visualize for hours.

No matter which tool you pick to support you with making changes in your life, it’s small incremental changes that make the difference.

This is exactly how the JOY Journal works!  It’s small, incremental changes in your thinking process.  It’s small, incremental shifts in your perception.  It’s small, incremental shifts in your focus.

JOY Journaling only takes 5 minutes per days.  That’s it!

5 minutes per day x 365 days = 1865 minutes of purposeful focus per year.

5 minutes per day x 5 days per week x 52 weeks = 1300 minutes of purposeful focus per year.

If you put 5 minutes a day in with CONSISTENT Intention, the power does not only add up to the minutes you put in, it’s exponential!

Your experience changes.  You change.  And all for the better!

http://joy-journal.com

You ARE worth the 5 minutes a day.  Schedule YOU in.

BE or BE NOT. There is no TRY.

For those of you who have played with me for a while (remember…I don’t work, I either Play or Plurk) you know I JOY Journal.

For those of who you have not played with me for very long, my JOY Journal is something I use every day, for 5 minutes each day.

I guess you can call it my “life shaping” tool, because honestly, it truly has helped me to consciously shape my life!

I notice a difference when I don’t do it as compared to when I do!

If you to here, http://joy-journal.com, you’re going to read about what happened to me 4 years ago that forced me to quit “trying” the Law of Attraction, and start “being” the Law of Attraction.

Yeah, I said Being.  Law of Attraction isn’t something you do or do not, it’s something you be.

When you BE the Law of Attraction, you shape your life.  When you TRY Law of Attraction you have nice little things happen every once in a while, and then you are disappointed an perhaps even devastated when the big things don’t happen.

My big thing was saving our home, and keeping our lives from being swallowed up whole.  We had a young son.  There was no other option but survival!

Again, you can read more about that at http://joy-journal.com.

After that situation turned around, one year later I began playing in my Journal with leaving my J.O.B. and working 100% for myself.  I went part-time in 3 months, and full-time me in 6 1/2 months.

I learned that I didn’t have to be in a crisis to use my Journal!  Yeah!

I wasn’t a Crisis LOA Be-er!  I was a Living LOA Be-er!

(No, I’m not saying Beer.  I can’t drink that stuff! LOL)

The JOY Journal will take you from being a LOA Try-er to a LOA Be-er!

http://joy-journal.com

And all it takes is just 5 minutes per day.  Seriously!

The thing is, you can take the audio program and run with it, or you can take advantage of the JOY Journal Coaching Community too.

It’s a lifetime membership, and I’ll be in there daily to answer your questions and coach you through anything that may come up as you begin your JOY Journaling process.

All those in favour of LOA Being say I!

Queen of JOY Turtle Cookies

I’m baking for Christmas!  Yummy!  I love how my creativity can show itself anywhere!  I adapted one of my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes, and it turned out really good!  Give it a try!  I hope you enjoy it too.  :-)
Queen of JOY Turtle Cookies

3/4 C firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C magarine or butter, softened
1/2 C shortening
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 C flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C each Chips (Chocolate, Butterscotch & Peanut Butter)
1/2 C chopped pecans

Heat oven to 375F.  In large bowl, combine first 6 inredients; blend well.  Stir in flour, soda and salt; blend well.  Stir in chips and nuts; mix well.  Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375F for 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie seet.
(48 cookies)

This is adapted from the chocolate chip cookie recipe in Pillsbury Kitchens’ Family Cookbook.  :-)

"We become what we think about."

“Throughout all history, the great wise men and teachers, philosophers, and prophets have disagreed with one another on many different things. It is only on this one point that they are in complete and unanimous agreement. - We become what we think about.” ~ Earl Nightingale

What do YOU think about YOU? Observe your thoughts about you today. Are you your best cheerleader, or your hardest critic? Are you kind and loving, or critical and judgmental?

How would your life be different if you coached yourself rather than berated yourself?

Toastmasters, Goals and Decisions

It’s the last week of October, and while we’ve had some snow, the ground is wonderfully brown. Autumn is certainly the season of change, and though I’m not a winter girl, I do enjoy the crisp freshness of the autumn air.

I’ve set some goals to plurk with over the cooler months. I’m a member of Toastmasters. I have been for two years. I had only completed 3 of my 10 manual speeches during that first two years. I can list many reasons why I didn’t achieve more during those two years. They were busy time. In truth, the only reason I never achieved more is because I never decided to achieve more. I was not setting a stronger goal, just in case I didn’t achieve it. I knew it was going to be busy.

With all the changes that have been afoot in my life I’ve been able to make some wonderfully powerful observations about myself. One of them was that the minute I make a decision, the rest falls into place. I’ve made the decision to achieve Competent Communicator BEFORE June 2009. I completed my 4th speech last week. I have 6 more speeches to go, and 7 months to get them done. These are still busy times, AND I’ve made the Decision.

Have you ever put off a decision regarding your goals because you needed more information?

Chances are the information you’re looking for will show up the minute you make a decision.

Is there a goal decision you’ve been waiting on? What if you made the decision to go for it?

What if you could get coaching, and strengthen your Inner Coach at the same time?

Dealing with Whatever Comes

"When you know that you’re capable of dealing with whatever comes, you have the only security the world has to offer." ~ Harry Browne

It’s not the stuff that happens that matters. It’s what you do with the stuff that happens that matters. Managing YOU through the stuff includes managing your energy, your emotions, managing your mind and managing your body. Have I told you that I think all managers should have coaching skills?

What if you coached you through the stuff that happens? Be coached and learn how to self-coach. http://www.joymadeeasy.com

Joy Made Easy starts November 17th. Don’t wait to reserve your spot! http://www.joymadeeasy.com

Radio, Golf and Me

The past couple of days have been really wonderful.

Tuesday I interviewed Dr. Michael Norwood for Welcome Changes Radio.  What an awesome conversation!  The 1 hour show ran over 15 minutes.  We played with his process called the “1 Minute Miracle” on a situation I’m plurking with.  I got some valuable insight from the discussion.  The show is well worth downloading.

Yesterday (Wednesday) I was the special guest for Kimberly Marooney on her show, Soul Connections.  We talked about the value of Welcoming Change, beliefs, and a whole lot more.  I’ll be back on her show again in July to continue the conversation.  Be sure to stop by and listen to the show!

Today was my second Golf lesson.  I really enjoy golf, but my limited skill with the game was totally holding me back.  I was thrilled when my son and husband gave me lessons for Mother’s Day!  I’ve already noticed improvement in my swing.  What really surprised me is some of the life lessons I observed with the golf lesson.

Slow on the up swing ~ This reminds me of preparation, particularly vision.  You don’t want to rush it so you truly gain clarity.

Follow Through ~ I noticed how stiff I was, and how I didn’t follow through after the swing.  I’d stop about 1/2 way up.  How often do we get stiff and not completely follow through on things out of fear?  Do we play full out, or are we tight and restricting?

They were interesting observations for me.

As for my physical activity goals, I didn’t get my walking in.  *sigh*  Though an hour on the driving range today was good additional activity.  I have completed all of my morning workouts, which is good.  I drank my water yesterday, but not today.  I still have a couple of hours left, so I’m going to get as much in as I possibly can during that time.

To fill my well I actually spent about 2 hours out in the sun pulling weeds in my front flower bed.  I found it to be a wonderful active meditation of sorts.  I spent very little time thinking about past or future events, though little sparks of inspiration did show up.  It was great to enjoy the sun and stick my fingers in the dirt.  Grounding and revitalizing.

That’s it for today!  Next Tuesday evening I’ll be updating you on my measurements again.

Progress Report on Velma Gallant Exposed, Week 1

Week one is complete.  I did 3 of 4 workouts.  My legs were still sore up until Saturday!  This week I started the workouts on Monday, so I can have a break on Wednesday and put 2 full days between leg workouts.  This should prevent this from happening again.

I did OK with water.  There is definitely room for improvement.  I ate well, though I did have a couple of chocolate chip cookies for desert every once in a while!  The boys ate them quickly, so they’re gone for now.

I did take my Bios Life Slim regularly, with no missed days.  I did have one day where I almost forgot at supper, so there wasn’t the full 10-15 minutes before I ate.

Some things I observed over this week.  I had to drop my portion sizes just a bit.  I was so stuffed after supper with my regular portion sizes!  I took me 3 days to figure out all I had to do was make the portions slightly smaller and I’d feel fine.

I was looking in the mirror thinking I looked a little slimmier, but figured it was just my excitement and I was making things up.

So…the measurements happened just 20 minutes ago, and I was surprised!  It really isn’t that much, but it is something!

My total inches are 163, which is down 2.5 inches from last week.  I lost a 1/2 inch from my neck, waist, hips and my right thigh.  (Did the measurements exactly the same as last time.)  3/4 of an inch from my chest (go figure), and gain 1/4 inch on my arms.  (I’m working on my pipes…LOL.)

Not bad!  I’m excited to see what happens after one more week!

So even without increasing my activity, or consciously decreasing my portion size, I’ve seen progress.

My intention is to get the full 4 workouts in this week, at least 2 walks with my Active Meditation, and continue with the conscious eating.  I’m going to do better with my water too.

Remember, if you want to play with me on this, send me that email with EXPOSE in the subject line.  velma AT welcomechanges DOT com.

If you choose to take my recommendations, we’ll set you up and get your support system in place!

Dream BIG(GER)!
